A Little About Me…
A dynamic singer-songwriter, music producer, entrepreneur, educator, and mentor with global influence, Chantel Hampton has leveraged her expertise in business strategy, music production, and mentorship to build a multifaceted career that spans industries. With a track record of successful projects and a deep commitment to innovation, she is a driving force in shaping the music and education landscape, providing pathways for young people and building communities. As a sought-after speaker and master clinician, Chantel has inspired international audiences with her expertise, relationships, and passion for her craft. In 2025, she was recognized as a voting member of the Recording Academy and was also featured on the Darkchild Apple Music Nashville Sessions, further cementing her reputation as a respected creative voice in the industry.
In 2009, Chantel founded Chantel Hampton Music, Inc. and launched her career as a freelance vocalist and recording artist. That same year she released her debut album Contagious, winning VH1’s songwriting competition twice for the title track. She went on to write, produce, and chart on Billboard for producer Rahni Song’s album Breakin’ the Rules, while her single Star of the Story became the third most requested song on Adult Contemporary Radio.
By 2013, Chantel joined Berklee College of Music as an Assistant Professor, training more than 2,000 aspiring musicians in show development, music business, songwriting, and professional skills. She has led international faculty teams and delivered masterclasses worldwide, including at Furtados Music School (Mumbai), SJA Music Institute and the CJ Foundation (Samsung, Seoul), Conservatorio De Artes del Caribe (Puerto Rico), and Harlem’s Apollo Theater Education Program. In 2017, she earned her Master’s in Educational Leadership & Policy from NYU’s Steinhardt School.
As co-founder of Spectrum Music Group, LLC, Chantel has worked with some of the industry’s most celebrated names. She contributed vocals, engineering, and arrangements to Charlie Wilson’s In It to Win It (RCA), earning a Grammy nomination for “Made for Love” ft. Lalah Hathaway. She has also worked with Grammy-winner H.E.R. as a background vocalist and consultant on tours and live appearances, and collaborated as a vocalist, arranger, or consultant with Jennifer Lopez, Disney, BET, ABC, NBC, iHeart Radio, Darkchild Entertainment, Alienz Alive, Teyana Taylor, Justine Skye, Muni Long, Jac Ross, Focus Features (The High Note), Amazon Prime, Red Bull Productions, and more.
Her recent highlights include writing and performing “24/7” for the Whitney Houston biopic I Wanna Dance with Somebody (2022), and contributing as a background vocalist/arranger on “Don’t Cry For Me.” In 2023–2024, she wrote and produced singles for legendary star Melba Moore, appeared as arranger and vocalist on Alex Harris’ Back to Us (Shanachie Entertainment), and co-wrote, arranged, and performed on Dove Award-winner Alex Jean’s EP More Than Gold.
Beyond music, Chantel’s foundation is rooted in faith and mentorship. Ordained in 2023 as a Pastor of Worship & Arts under Bishop Mark Chironna (Church On the Living Edge), she has served as a worship leader and psalmist since age 14. Alongside her father, the late LeRoix Hampton III, she helped train hundreds of worship leaders and musicians worldwide.
Chantel’s vision is clear: to mentor, empower, and influence the next generation to live signature lives—upholding a standard of integrity, artistry, and positive impact while keeping the legacy of honest creativity alive.
